OBJECTIVES : The participant will receive the mandatory training required by Canadian TDG Regulations and will be able to:
- identify his responsibilities
- recognize the labels and placards that are required to identify dangerous goods;
- use the TDG Handbook as reference material;
- utilize the CHECKLIST before accepting dangerous goods for transport; and
- understand shipping documents that accurately identify the shipping name, primary classification, and shipping number of each product.
DURATION: 4 hours.
CONTENTS:
- Familiarization with the TDG Handbook and the Canadian Act & Regulations
- Provincial Decree (Quebec) of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods by road
- Application / Exemptions / Responsibilities
- Classification (9 classes, packing groups)
- Safety requirements for packaging (safe, UN and TC/DOT)
- Marking and labelling packages and overpacks requirements
- Placards requirements applicable to ground transportation
- Completion of shipping documents
- Knowing and applying the requirements of the Canadian TDG
- Question period and exam.

MATERIAL: The course includes a TDG Handbook and a training certificate.
