{"id":394,"date":"2015-05-06T15:45:05","date_gmt":"2015-05-06T19:45:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cftcanada.com\/?page_id=394"},"modified":"2015-08-19T13:51:28","modified_gmt":"2015-08-19T17:51:28","slug":"compliance-audits","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.cftcanada.com\/en\/392-2\/compliance-audits\/","title":{"rendered":"Compliance Audits"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><strong>CFT Canada&#8217;s compliance audit is designed to verify if the corporation&#8217;s procedures meet all laws and regulations, policies and internal guidelines related to dangerous goods regulations in the workplace or offered for transport. <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A compliance audit is a great first step to ensure regulations are met.<\/p>\n<p>It will allow the company to know where it stands in relations to dangerous goods compliance whether it be for TDG, WHMIS 2015, environmental or health and safety.<\/p>\n<p>A compliance audit integrates well with environmental and health and safety management programs.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Objectives:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The main objectives of the report is to identify \u00a0:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Handling<\/li>\n<li>Request for Transport\u00a0(shipments)<\/li>\n<li>Storage<\/li>\n<li>Imports<\/li>\n<li>Transport<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>of dangerous goods according to national and international laws and regulations for air, sea and ground transport.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>An audit report would cover the following:<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Part 1\u00a0&#8211; Administration :<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Policies and responsibilities \/ Coordination of the program :<\/strong>\u00a0General information on the companies requirements in order to meet all applicable regulations and obligations.<\/p>\n<h4>Training :<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Lists of required training per employee or sectors<\/li>\n<li>Level of knowledge for national and international standards<\/li>\n<li>Proof of training<\/li>\n<li>Copies of training certificates (validity and content) of employees and employers<\/li>\n<li>Review of training files required to be maintained.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Standards\u00a0:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Informations on locations and\u00a0identification of storage areas<\/li>\n<li>Locations where dangerous goods are received and\/or prepared for transport<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Part 2\u00a0&#8211; Compliance :<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Information on classification of dangerous goods,<\/li>\n<li>Preparation and filing of documents,<\/li>\n<li>Application, correction or removal of danger markings ,<\/li>\n<li>Availibility of proper, up to date, publications for domestic, national or international shipments on the work site,<\/li>\n<li>Availibility of UN approved packaging,<\/li>\n<li>Format and content of shipping documents,<\/li>\n<li>Marking and labelling<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of\u00a0 permits, their availibility and updates,<\/li>\n<li>Segregation and incompatibility of dangerous goods.<\/li>\n<li>Safety standards for loading and unloading,<\/li>\n<li>Immediate reports in case of spills, proper use of equipment, emergency response and requirments for ERAPs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Recommandations<\/h3>\n<p>The auditor will produce a report of recommandations deemed to be mandatory.
