1.4 M$ penalty to be paid for hazardous waste

U.S. Company Innophos Holdings Inc. has been penalized $1.4 million for handling hazardous waste in a plant that does not have the permit to do so.

 

This release from the U.S. EPA is consecutive to the Geismar, Louisiane plant sending hazardous waste to a neighbouring plant that does not have a permit to store, treat, or dispose of hazardous waste.

U.S. EPA stated that the plant that produces Phosphoric Acid has sent a contaminated waste material called “Raffinat” to this plan.
