2016-01-06

A convoy of 26 cars carrying more than 200 000 liters of sulfuric acid, a highly corrosive liquid, derailed near the town of Julia Creek, Australia, December 28, 2015. A small amount of the dangerous goods spread . Torrential rains complicated the work of cleaning crews as access to the highway was cut by flood waters. For now, it is unclear whether the derailment will have an environmental impact. The Queensland Rail company has not been able to access the site of the accident and is still not known what caused the derailment.
