Fire in the Louis-Hyppolite-Lafontaine tunnel

A recreational vehicle towing a canteen caught fire in the  Louis – Hippolyte -Lafontaine tunnel. The convoy contained three propane tanks, with a total weight of 225 pounds.

Transport Quebec, which governs the transport of dangerous goods in Quebec, allows for the transport of propane in the tunnel, but under certain conditions. Road vehicles, or combination of road vehicles must have at most two cylinders of 46 liters capacity each.
