PCBs contaminate Pointe-Claire

Following a spill of approximately one ton of toxic oil on the site of the company Reliance in Pointe-Claire in 2013, the Ministry of Environment believes that approximately 3000 cubic meters of soil are now hazardous material. In total, there is about 5272 cubic meters of contaminated soil. Groundwater on the site is also heavily polluted with PCBs, dioxins and furans on a surface of 4900 square meters. The Ministry believes that the contamination certainly exceeds the limits of the property.
